Blackjack Strategy
If you ever walk into a bar at your local casino, you will see players huddled together sharing their own strategy of playing blackjack with one another. An informed blackjack player is a winning blackjack player. So, let’s take a look at some good blackjack strategy that you can bring to the table each night.
The Basics
Stick to the basics and eliminate weaknesses in your decision-making process while playing a hand of blackjack. Never deviate from your original strategy to play a hunch or your “gut instinct,” because you will be throwing your money away.
Double Down
You must learn how to successfully use the technique of doubling down to your advantage when playing blackjack. Few situations offer the opportunity to put the odds in your favor than doubling down on certain hands. Here are few points to remember, always double down when holding Aces or if the dealer is showing a nine or less and you’re holding a pair of 10s.
Splitting Pairs
Splitting pairs will allow you to double your bet by playing two hands simultaneously. Remember, you should only split pairs if it is to your advantage, and avoid splitting fives, 10s or face cards (Jack, Queen, and King). Experience players will always split Aces, sevens, and eights if the dealer is showing a card of equal or less value. Refrain from splitting your cards if the dealer is showing a nine, 10, or any face card.
